SMSResume.in is a startup that enables you to send your resume by SMS. All you need to do is sign up for an account and upload your resume and cover lettter. All you need to do after that is send an SMS to their long code 9711532380:
Resume<space> emailid
The resume is forwarded to the employer’s email address and you get a confirmation of the delivery.
Considering that mobiles and SMS are so prevalent in India, I think this is an awesome service. I know that Naukri provides SMS access to their site, not sure of the other services.

That is a really good thought Sachin. The best thing is, in this time of recession, this will save the freshers the cost of visiting internet cafes frequently.
Also in tier-II and tier-III cities, they will not have to travel very far away….

Resumes have been around for so many years by now but few have bothered a problem that still lies around so long: usability of the data in the resume.
Resume though have standard formats, it would be easy to collect resume fields into database fields. I have seen people writing ridiculous “special achievements” in their resumes – one such “Was captain of inter-class cricket team in 4th std”.
I also doubt how they are gonna make big money.
Wonder when we will actually see “solutions” instead of just a new technology to do what we have already been doing. I feel Naukri.com is far better speaking not only in terms of the brand value it has, but the “solutions” it offers to the job seekers and employers.
