MyBangalore is a new, aesthetically pleasing interactive portal for the city of Bangalore. You have articles and stories under various categories, a local event calendar, photo gallery, lifestyle section and several such useful sections. There’s also a incredibly useful Question and Answer section, where you can ask Bangalore related questions and a classifieds section.
The site seems to be very user friendly and if marketed well, could see some good traction. A couple of points that seemed a bit irksome are that you need to register for submitting anything – be it a comment or a story or a question. That just reduces the chances of user engagement and may detract users from actively contributing to the site. On the flip side, it does reduce the chances for spam and other unwanted content.
MyBangalore is an attempt by a new media startup, DoubleSpring, and they plan to launch similar portals for other Indian cities as well.
I think there was a similar portal for Bombay as well…does anyone remember what it was….guess they sold off
Don’t always look at one side of the coin (failure – side) doing a job is always easy any fool educated will do that..
Entrepreneurship is beyond that only people who have courage,guts,risk seeking ability and passion will understand. It doesn’t really matter if we fail or loose.If we lost we have lost for once but these guys have the courage to stand firm and keep going in search of their vision.
