mMail provides access to your emails via SMS

logo_mmailmMail is a new startup that provides you access to your emails via SMS without the need to use GPRS. Since its based on SMS, it works with almost all mobile handsets. The cheapest pricing plan provides you access to 250 email alerts for Rs 90/-. Depending on your usage, you can opt for higher priced plans as well.

Currently, they provide support for Gmail only (IMAP access enabled). They also provide an alternate Java client app if you opt for that option.They also provide a solution to enterprise customers as well.

SMSMyEmail is another service that offers similar email over SMS functionality. SMSMyEmail seems to support all the major email service providers as well.

I wont be surprised if there are other companies offering similar functionality as well. Given that SMSMyemail has been around for a while, mMail will face an uphill battle in penetrating this market.
