Couple of more things at hiring end could be helpful:

1. Insist on getting his updated profile, if someone cant spend sometime on updating his profile for you, you are not sure whether he will join later.

2. Check out if he discovered something about your company or not.

3. Interview Timings: Too many re-schedule(from both sides) definitely lowers the probability of him joining you.

4. Earlier checking his current scraps on Orkut have helped us a lot in determining the probability of joining.

5. Check out the number of issues he has raised during offer negotiation.

Here-in I am adding that the employers to need to take care of the interests of the employees as unpredictable environment, future in long term is not secure.

It's a learning and a challenging experience to be in start up where-in only enthusiast who have a passion for the area of establishment for a start up will work for the growth.

Individual should always manage his fort. In a start up one has to work for himself as well as for anything to everything.
