This is a big blow! Google is the GOD of internet. Wonder why they got pissed off. If you type John Chow in the internet, you will not find a single relevant link. The reason being that John Chow was selling links. Maybe Bigadda was spamming or tried some blackhat SEO techniques.

It could be that the google fellars were afraid that Big Adda, being a local player might get the audience away from the jaded orkut.

What ever the reason, this indeed will turn out to be a death blow if not remedied quickly!

the pages might be in the index, but if they dont appear in the search results way up high, whats the use ?

Besides, common users dont search for keywords with the site:bigadda.com

They’ll just enter the keyword bigadda and hit enter.

BigB’s blog page is popular and what about the home page of the site itself ?

A further deeper digging reveals that
1) bigadda.in is using the name “BigAdda” as a trademark.
2) The TOC of the site talks about a company named “BigAdda Inc”
3) The owner of the site is *possibly* also a promoter of porn..

BigAdda has not been dropped. You may got some ridiculous results because of your search habits. Google doesn’t show everyone exactly the same results for the same keywords/phrases.

Also, Google limits the no. of results that can be show at a time from a particular domain or subdomain. If you need to really confirm, Google with “site: bigadda.com” and you will see hundreds of pages.

The reason one may have seen only Big B’s page is because of its high popularity as compared to other pages.

They still do have some pages in the index so not completely dropped
