Pringoo - Design your customized products

January 1, 2008 · Posted in India Web 2.0

pringoo-logo.gifPringoo is a new startup entering the market for customized products - t-shirts, mugs, bags, mousepads etc.. Just upload your design or select one of the site provided cliparts and customize it to your needs. Use the design to create your own customized products or you can purchase one of the existing designs from their marketplace.

Pringoo offers some salient features which, make it a strong competitor in this market. Sellers can create their own ’store’ and sell their designs through the store. Sellers can make their designs editable for the buyer. So, if a buyer wants to extend / further customize the seller’s design, they can easily do so.

Oh and did I mention that Pringoo is visually stunning. They have a very well designed and user friendly interface. I was able to create a custom t-shirt in no time.

One of the most interesting features is that sellers are in charge of deciding how much percentage commission they’d like when one of their designs is sold on Pringoo. (Myntra, a competitor, passes on a flat 10% of the sale price to sellers when their design is sold). The percentage on Pringoo, though variable, is capped at 15%.

You’d wonder why a seller would settle for anything less than 15% - after all, his goal would be to maximize revenue. Well, the percentage is added to the base price of a custom product. So, if a product costs Rs 1000, and the seller has set a 15% commission, the actual cost of the product to the buyer would be Rs 1150/-. If the seller feels that charging a smaller percentage would bring in greater volume, they can opt to charge a smaller commission.

Pringoo is a neat product - give it a spin and let me know your thoughts.

http://www.pringoo.com is the best site for customize products in India, I just love it.

Looks good. But I still feel Myntra.com is a lot better. They have a much better design collection and have a better range of products. Pringoo’s customization tool is a little better though. There is another player called dilsebol. It doesn’t come anywhere near these two though.

After looking your post, I visited myntra but I found pringoo user experience much better. I assume pringoo is just launched so they have less number of designs than myntra but pringoo designs are much creative and I find products range are more useful.

dilsebol needs to innovate and come up with a new UI…or these 2 players may end up trouncing it..

    Isn’t this just a copy of CafePress.com?

On surface it may look like cafepress but when you see them closely then these sites are much more advance than cafepress.

As a designer, I feel that these custom order sites don’t appeal to me as much as an online competition website. There is a site by the name http://www.gnome.in launched recently and the collection of designs there is absolutely awesome! :) Including my own designs.

I have been in designing field for a decade now. I found pringoo better than gnome because pringoo offers equal opportunity to all kind of designers and everyone can earn money at pringoo.com . Also pringoo has contest and they have good prizes Rs. 10000 as well as Ipod shuffle.
Apart from that I created a online store at pringoo that is free and now i can sell my design having that website.

Good site! However, I have been using picsquare for some time and feel it is similar too, just that these guys have some exsiting designs. But tell me seriously, who is interested in buying these pre-specified designs.
Moreover, when it comes to the range of products, just browsed through Myntra after reading this post and I have to say that they have a lot more products than anybody else.
However, all these companies are relatively new and I am sure a couple of them will stand out while the rest fade away .. let’s wait and watch!!
