Naukri.com plans educational website



Naukri.com owner, Info Edge Ltd., is planning to launch a website for the educational sector in the next 6-8 months. The company is also evaluating websites in the automobile and the yellow pages market.

“Education sector offers immense potential in terms of advertisement revenue as it accounts for 14-15 per cent of total ad proceeds in the country. Considering this factor, we are moving into education space,” says COO Hitesh Oberoi.

In a separate story, BS reports that Naukri is planning to provide an affirmative action search option to clients - so clients can hire candidates based on whether they belong to SC/ST/ OBC categories.There are over 130,000 OBCs, 38,000 SCs and STs, 760,000 women, and 8,000 physically challenged job seekers registered on the job portal.
