Poll results - Why you want to become an entrepreneur

A week ago, I started a poll on the site - Asking you to vote for ‘Why you want to be become an entrepreneur‘.

Fast forward a week, and I’m overwhelmed with the results -

110 votes were received in a period of 1 week

Honestly, I hadnt imagined such a tremendous response to the poll. I want to take a moment and thank all of you who spared a minute to cast your vote. It means a lot to me.

So, at the end of week 1, below are the results of the poll:

16 votes (15% of the votes) for ‘Its all about money’

21 votes (19% votes) for ‘I want to be my own boss’

18 votes (16% votes) for ‘Its all abt fame and respect’

12 votes (11% votes) for ‘I love challenges’

5 votes (5% votes) for ‘I suck at everything else’

38 votes (35% votes) for ‘passion to create something new’

It looks like the passion to create something new (thanks Unmesh for suggesting this option) is emerging as the single biggest motivator for people to become entrepreneurs. “I want to be my own boss” follows in at the runner-up position.

Interesting, very interesting indeed.

I’m going to leave the poll as-is for some more time giving people additional time to respond. Thanks to all who voted. Those who didnt, please spare a minute to let us know your opinion.
