BlogAdda - a showcase for Indian bloggers

BlogAdda is a new Web 2.0′ish platform for Indian bloggers to showcase their blogs. The goal of the site is twofold - (1) blog owners can promote their blogs and (2) the site audience can uncover new blogs that may be of interest to them. Users can rate the blogs, comment on blogs and uncover new blogs by using tags and the ‘Most Popular’ and ‘Top Rated’ modules.

The site is along the lines of Rediff BlogShowCase, but much more visually appealing. While I really like the site in terms of design and usability, I’m not yet very convinced about the utilitarian purpose. A service like BlogAdda can become useful (I love StumbleUpon and reguarly uncover some great content through the site), but only when there’s a critical mass of users using the service. As of now, I see only a limited audience for such sites. People in India first need to be educated about blogs before such sites really become popular.

Pranav, I agree that for blogadda to be successful, we require lot of readers coming in. As far as we know, there are wonderful Indian bloggers and newer blogs coming up everyday, which readers would love to discover and read. On this simple principle, we have started blogadda.

I’m glad that you liked the design and usability and wish that more and more readers send us their feedback. Thank you for covering this.
