Yatra ads on TechCrunch
August 12, 2007 · Posted in india online advertising
Probably not one of the best examples of targeted advertising. But none the less, I was quite surprised to find Yatra banner ads on TechCrunch. The ad seemed to appear as part of the TribalFusion ad network. Wonder if this was intented or just a fluke.

That was no fluke. Wasnt targeted towards TechCrunch either.
TribalFusion could check that you are from India, or that you are an Indian who normally checks Indian sites. So you were served an ad targeted towards that demographic.
ICICI ads on TechCrunch, Indian loans or car ads are normal while visiting foreign sites (in TB, Adsense, CPX etc)
