Rohan @ Konkan.tv just tipped me off that they’ve now started offering free streaming live TV. Several Indian channels like Asianet, CNBC Awaaz, DD News, CNN IBN Live, Aaj Tak, Raj TV, CNBC TV18 can be watched live at their website. Not sure about any possible legal implications, I asked Rohan if this would cause any legal hassles. He points to the fact that these feeds are publicly available across the Internet and all he is doing is embedding them in the appropriate player and offering them at a single location on his site.
If any TV channel is concerned about copyright, Konkan.tv will work with them to have that feed removed.
Rohan has come up with several great initiatives as part of Konkan.tv. Besides the live streaming TV above, he’s also launched a open source video sharing project called OpenTube. Great going Rohan - good luck with all the efforts.
