KyaZoonga, buy movie tickets online
KyaZoonga is a new site that helps you buy online movie tickets in India. I’d reviewed BookEazy earlier but one of the constraints is that BookEazy is currently offered only in the city of Pune. Moviegoers in other cities seem to have no such online channel for buying movie tickets.
KyaZoonga hopes to address this problem by offering online movie booking in the following cities:
Aurangabad, Baroda, Bangalore, Chennai, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Kota, Latur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Noida and Pune.
When you sign up for the service, you can set several profile settings such as ‘Whether you’d like to buy tickets using mobile?’, ‘which multiplex you prefer’, ‘your preferred genre of movies’ etc. I’m guessing the goal of these questions is to personalize not only the booking experience but also send personalized promotions to customers who opt-in for such a service.
Currently, they seem to offer movie bookings only in multiplexes (AdLabs, FUN, INOX, PVR) in the aforementioned cities. I registered for the service and tried to book a couple of tickets for ‘Jhoom Barabar jhoom’ in Pune. Was able to get to the checkout screen with no hassle. Wanting to prod more into their usability, I tried several additional booking scenarios - in different cities and varying the show times and the number of tickets. Only once in about 7-10 attempts, I was presented that there werent sufficient tickets available. I’m guessing this may be a system glitch because in rest of the test scenarios, I was shown only the list of show time & dates when the tickets were available.
A convenience fee of Rs 10 is charged per ticket and the user has the option to change the seat allocation after placing the order. They also provide the option of paying by ‘KyaChing’, a rechargeable membership card.
One of the biggest limitation of the site is that they do not provide a list of FAQ’s. Instead, they ask you to enter a keyword and the corresponding list of FAQ’s will be displayed. This is lousy. If you do not get the keyword right, you will not see any resulting FAQ’s. Getting access to onsite help is one of the key enablers of such new services.
I’m a sucker for the ‘less is more’ design principle and going by that, it shouldnt come as a surprise that I personally like BookEazy’s design and usability more.
However, till BookEazy expands their realm to other cities, KyaZoonga will fulfill the needs of moviegoers in these cities.

I have used KyaZoonga and its a good online movie ticketing portal. I bought tickets for Sivaji without any hassle. I hope they will add more cinemas and locations to their site. Cheers!
