Patent filing in India goes online
The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) is working towards setting up a website for filing and registering patents, trademarks and designs. The project, called ‘Total IP Solution’, aims to bring transparency and efficiency in the patent filing and approval process. An individual or an organization will be able to not only apply for the patents online, but also track their status. Digitization of patents will also make it easy to search the patents database.
