Are you an aspiring tech entrepreneur ?
If you are an aspiring tech entrepreneur and still in college, listen up.
The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Intel and Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) have signed a MoU on technology entrepreneurship which involves an investment of Rs 2.12 crores. The program also includes the partnership of UCal-Berkeley.
The program consists of selecting aspiring tech entrepreneurs who have great ideas but who are clueless about building a business around these ideas. Eight teams from various institutions will be selected for a national competition in October. The two best teams get a chance to compete in the Intel-Berkeley Technology Entrepreneurship Challenge.
The selected teams do not get any seed funding. But something more valuable - entrepreneurial mentoring. Filing patents, tech licensing, writing a business plan, contact with VC’s are some of the various benefits provided. And the teams that failed to make the cut need not be dejected. They get access to local mentors and access to tech parks in the country.
The program has a bunch of more interesting stuff. Read it here. This is just terrific !!
