TV18 launches Studio18

I was reading the news on IBNLive, when I stumbled upon this ad:

My impulse reaction was that this was a reactive measure to Moser Baer’s announcement to sell dirt cheap Hindi movie DVD’s and VCD’s. A quick visit to Studio18 gave me the impression that the site has been launched very recently. They intend to not only sell DVD’s and VCD’s but have more ambitious plans:

Studio18 intends to be an operation that involves acquisition, production, syndication, marketing and world wide distribution of full-length feature films.

As of now, they have a mere handful of movie listings - including reviews, trailers and showtimes for these movies.. And there seems to be no signs of how and where one can buy the DVDs and VCDs they claim to be available in the ad above.

Well, I understand that these are the initial hiccups faced by any new venture. But then, they shouldnt be displaying ads similar to the one above — at least not until they have the DVD’s and VCD’s they claim to be available.
