73 IPOs, Rs 23,716 crores raise - bumper year for Indian IPO scene

Here’s one reason why VC funding is flooding the Indian market - last year saw a record 73 IPOs that raised a whopping Rs 23,716 crores. The amount raised is double than that in 2005-2006.

Construction firms topped the list with 5 companies raising Rs. 3053 crore. Telecom (2125 cr.), IT (1864 cr.), Finance (1965 cr.) and entertainment (1284 cr.) followed suit.
