Why is Airtel.com a Vodafone site ?

Ok..This may be old news. But considering that I’m not an Airtel customer, this is news to me. The couple of times I’ve visited Airtel’s website is by clicking on the first search result in Google for Airtel (come to think of it, thats what I seem to do all the time..Enter the search query in Google and click on the first result — even though I know which site I intend to visit..Google has become like my shortcut ).

So, yesterday, for a change I tried typing in www.airtel.com in Firefox and I land up on a Vodafone site ?

Anyone have any input - take on this ?

    Because Airtel is the old name of Vodafone Spain! Founded in 1994, was renamed vodafone in 2001

    u know i am really shocked, i am not airtel customer, yester day i just visit
    http://www.airtel.com -its keep on going to vodofone site i thought airtel server is in
    vodafone hand.. is it??

    I am Airtel Customer but last year some body stolen my mobile with sim card stil I not enabling to close that sim card and issuing another one due to your system many time contact your customer service they asking FIR police I went do FIR police stetion we will not register telme what i should do to take same nunber this is no. 9934999581. please advice me to how to take this nunber again.

    i know vodafone will come,,, the reason is the global gaint vodafone has some stakes in bharati airtel,

    when bhrati started its web page it was provided by vodafone server,

    and its not been moved and as global .com is still lying with vodafone itself and only .in is in control with airtel….

    poor airtel guys………

    As their global online web page operation is managed by by Vodafone…..

    now tell me who is the real king airtel or vodafone??????????HUH
