Airtel has launched `Mobile Radio’, an innovative value-added service (VAS), for its customers in Nashik. The new service will enable customers to listen to FM radio ‘anytime, anywhere on the move?. The company is also planning to make this service available in Marathi in Maharashtra and Goa circle, shortly.

Why wouldn’t one just buy a Nokia cellphone with built-in FM functionality instead of paying Airtel for something that is essentially free?

nilesh,
good point..probably the cost of the nokia handset may be a factor - not many may be able to afford it. Alternatively, Airtel may provide some added value over the regular FM channels..Again, not sure what would be the added value, but as you say — there better be some added incentive.
