Sunil Mittal and the missed calls phenomena

The ‘missed call’ phenomena is boon for customers and a curse for the mobile operators. Missed calls translate to choking of bandwidth and no real revenue for mobile operators. Sunil Mittal (Bharti CEO) also does it - albeit for different reasons. None the less, with SMS revenues continuing to diminish and people relying on ‘missed calls’, the mobile operators are definitely on the hunt for the next killer app / VAS to add to their revenue stream.
