CrickeM - Social Video network for Cricket
Crickem - the world’s first social video network was launched yesterday. As per their site:
CrickeM is an online community for anyone anywhere in the world who shares a love for cricket. Its about getting to know your fellow fans; creating games and clubs; and enjoying video clips and photos (you can even upload your own, even from your mobile phone). You can reconnect with your old friends and begin new ones. You can join one of the existing online cricket clubs or even create your own to discuss cricket.
CrickeM is a place to meet other cricket fans and players, share your own experiences and enjoy photos and videos from around the world.
The site is still invite-only and so I could not test-drive the site. They claim to have sections on videos, blogs, clubs — related to cricket
Mobile access to the site is in the works. The site is a product of Paypod Inc. and seems to have a good leadership team on board. The other competitor in this area is Sixer.tv. They have teamed up with Reliance as their official broadband sponsor — which definitely gives them some serious muscle. Lets see how the dominant players (read Cricinfo, cricketnext etc.) react to these developments.
